Tequila Avion Silver

So I'm a huge fan of Entourage. I mean, how can you not be?! As a t.v. show it has some fine qualities, but this isn't really about Entourage it's about Avion. Ken Austin, founder of Avion, and Doug Ellin, creator of Entourage, are good friends. Part of this friendship included featuring Avion as a major plot line in the show. You couldn't watch the 7th season without hearing about this tequila.
Avion had just launched when it was featured on Entourage and there was a need to fill the demand of people wanting to buy this tequila. Oprah chose Avion Espresso as part of her O-List. Bloomberg did a segment on the growth of Avion. This tequila has really leap forward. As a fan of the show and of tequila, I knew I needed to try it.

Voted the "World's Best Tasting Tequila" in 2012, Avion is sweet and crisp with hints of pineapple and grapefruit. Typical of the highland tequilas, it also has that black pepper finish. I thought it was smooth enough to not need any citrus (and I never use the salt training wheels) but the citrus wasn't necessary. I can fully admit that mostly myself, with a little sharing between my husband and brother-in-law, we polished off a bottle in an evening. Truth is I had very minimal hangover the next day. All it took was a little coffee and I was ready to do it all again! We had another brand of tequila that night as well to compare - there was no comparison. Avion won us over instantly. 

The downside of Avion? It's a ultra premium tequila so the average bottle will run you about $45. Currently where I live, this is more than a bottle of Patron. That being said, I am entirely willing to spend the money on this great tasting tequila. If you haven't tried it, I would recommend you do so. Even if your not an Entourage fan.
