Canterbury Park Margarita

If you read my very first post you would know that I am a horse racing fan. Here in Minnesota the racing season doesn't start until after the Kentucky Derby and is only on weekends. Last night I made my first visit of the year to Canterbury Park (my local racetrack). It's been a long week and I needed some racing and a margarita in my life.

As it turns out, Friday's at the track are really great for drinks. My margarita was $4.50 and really delicious. They offer the margarita's track side, right outside the winner's circle. This margarita is made with Hornitos Reposado. Even though its made with a pre-made mix (of which I am usually not a fan), it was really cool that the margarita came out of a tap with the tequila bottles upside down right in front of you. Kind of like a keg of margaritas.... which is just my style. I just had this one margarita, but was feeling mighty fine after. In between races I looked around at the crowd and noticed quite a few people also enjoying the margarita.

If you live in the area and haven't been out to Canterbury Park, consider it. If you aren't near me, visit you local track. If the first Triple Crown winner in 37 years didn't excite you, some live racing definitely should! There will be many more margaritas and many more live races in my summer future.
